90 word reflections on coaching. Not as easy as it sounds, but neither is coaching.
REGULAR TIME (90):
Reflection 5: 90 words on "two walks"...
Pandemic lesson 396:
Walks are my favorite “discovery”.
Pandemic lesson 397:
Everything I meant to accomplish during the “slow down” was not possible. Learn Spanish, teach myself the ukulele, read every book, watch every training video, listen to every podcast. Outwork everyone.
Pandemic lesson 398:
Two walks per day is better than one.
Morning walk and listen to something that inspires, motivates, instructs.
Evening walk and listen to my wife, my boys, to nature, to my thoughts.
Slow down, reflect, clear the noise, be grateful.
Two walks better than one.
EXTRA TIME (90+)
I've begun to realize that you can listen to silence and learn from it. It has a quality and a dimension all its own.
Chaim Potok, "THE CHOSEN"
We coach 'speed of play' but we don't necessarily mean to just play faster. We mean to play at the speed the game is asking us to play in a particular moment. Speed up, yes, but sometimes we need to slow down. Every moment is different. 'Speed of play' is about being in control of the game. It's about owning the tempo. Owning it when it's fast, and owning it when it's slow.
